Alone in great company
Captivating and charismatic, Eugénie Rebetez embodies a mysterious character that appears to be a prisoner of its solitude. Alone on stage, she sings and dances, delivering one scene after the other, bringing the emptiness that surrounds her to life. She fills the place with imaginary guests, launches into snatches of conversation with her surroundings and reaches out to her innermost self. Her unique character becomes manifold, in constant transformation. In a bid to establish a connection with the outside world, Eugénie Rebetez pushes back the boundaries of her body, letting it express itself entirely, merging with the pink pastel set, becoming a living sculpture and revealing the complexity and the ambivalence of being oneself and finding one’s place amongst the others.
