Come and stitch your brazen emancipatory slogans! Luiza Moraes’ embroidery workshop is not exactly a civilized afternoon with scones and a cup of tea. Quite the opposite: this is an opportunity to claim and explore a space of free speech. Textile arts have often been dismissed as an old-maidish skill, or a domestic art at best. Craftivism reflects the desire to subvert these traditional techniques while delivering powerful messages in a light-hearted manner.
